Eric Dumas
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Eric Dumas, a former assistant with both the men's and women's basketball programs at Lambuth University, enters his eighth season with the Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball staff.

Dumas primarily works with the post players and works with fellow assistant Brent Harris on developing scouting reports and game plans for each Southeastern opponent. Dumas is also a vital member of the Southeastern recruiting process and oversees the Lady Lion conditioning program.

Under Dumas’ guidance, the Lady Lion post corps helped Southeastern post a Southland Conference-best plus-5.7 rebounding margin in 2008-09. Dumas worked with multi-time All-Southland selection Kristy Carlin – one of the top scorers and rebounders in school history – as well as All-Southland performers Brenita Williams, Jazmin Cain, Nakeya Downing and Pam Mathews.

Dumas spent six seasons as an assistant for men's coach Brad Jones at Lambuth and served his last season at Lambuth as a women's assistant for Lori Davis Jones. Dumas was interim head coach for part of the 2001-02 season and during his tenure with the Lady Eagles, he served as recruiting coordinator and coached the post players.

The Paducah, Ky., native helped guide the Lady Eagles to a Sweet 16 berth in the 2001-02 NAIA Tournament. He also helped Lambuth men's team to the 1999 NAIA National Tournament for the first time and the Mid-South Conference Championship in 1999-2000.

Prior to entering coaching, Dumas played men’s basketball at Lambuth, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education in 1996. At Paducah Tillman High School, Dumas played on the boy’s basketball team and was a member of the football team as a freshman. Dumas is single and resides in Hammond.

Brent Harris
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

a former letter winner and assistant coach at Lambuth and successful coach in the Tennessee high school ranks, enters season eight as an assistant coach at Southeastern.

Harris works with the Southeastern backcourt and along with fellow assistant coach Eric Dumas, develops game plans and scouting reports for Lady Lion foes. A vital part of the Southeastern recruiting process, Harris also is in charge of scheduling for the Lady Lions.

Thanks in large part to Harris’ ability to mold its talents, Southeastern connected on a Southland Conference single-season record 220 three-point field goals in 2008-09. Harris has guided several standout backcourt performers, including All-Southland selections Dacia McGowan, Tina Wilson, Brooke Necaise and Charinee Mitchell.

Harris, a 1995 graduate of Lambuth, returned to the college game in 2002-03 after spending three seasons at Riverside (Tenn.) High School as boy's head coach and one season as girl's head coach. In his one season as girl's coach, he was named the District 11-AA Girl's Coach-of-the-Year and led his team to the district and tournament championships.

Harris spent three years as an assistant at Lambuth where he helped the school reach the NAIA Tournament and helped coach five NAIA All-Americans. Harris was an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs during his time with the Eagles.

Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Harris was a member of the Lambuth men’s basketball and baseball teams. A Jackson, Tenn. native, Harris excelled at both sports at Northside High School.

Harris earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s of Science from Lambuth. In 2002, he received his M.A. in Education from Tennessee State. He and his wife, Krista, reside in Independence and the couple is expecting their first child in February.
